This month and next, Renée is joining her friend Susan Graham on a rare duo recital tour of elegant French vocal treasures, including the “Flower Duet” from Delibes’s Lakmé, the Barcarolle from Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann, Fauré’s achingly beautiful “Pavane,” and Debussy’s “Mandoline,” “Beau soir,” and “Clair de lune” (for solo piano). Other highlights include songs by Reynaldo Hahn and duets by Berlioz, Fauré, Saint-Saëns, and Messager. With pianist Bradley Moore, Renée and Susan hope to conjure the world of the Belle Époque salon, where legendary divas mixed with artists, composers, and the beau (and demi-) monde. The LA Times called the recital, "Ravishing, haunting — a kind of perfumed pleasure that belongs, hélas, to a bygone era." To read the full review, click here.
